Plant of the Week: Tibouchina ‘Princess Flower’
Tibochina “Princess Flower” comes in two sizes- regular growth and dwarf. You will find the dwarf here primarily however it still will grow to about 3 feet by 3 feet. It is a stunning plant when blooming with a soft green foliage that surrounds brilliant purple flowers. It is a spring to fall bloomer that is best planted with morning sun or filtered sun as opposed to direct hot sun.
Tibochina can become leggy if left untrimmed so trimming or pinching back from time to time will promote fullness. Unfortunately, it is not salt tolerant however could be planted in a protected area in a container in salt zones. It is also not very deer resistant.
Recovers nicely if damaged by freezing.
