Plant of the Week: Dipladenia
Dipladenia is a beautiful ornamental vine that can be enjoyed as a garden plant or a small vine. Although, technically a short growing vine, it makes a wonderful flowering planter or can be planted in the ground and just kept clipped from time to time. It is extremely tropical looking with trumpet shaped flowers that come in red, pink or white primarily.
Dipladenia is moderately salt tolerant and needs adequate moisture but can survive short droughts. It prefers well drained soil. This vine can be trained to climb a short post or lattice. Dipladenia does well in containers and makes a stunning hanging basket or cascading plant in tall urns. It is usually is not eaten by deer.
