Plant of the Week: Plumbago

Plumbago is one of our favorite blooming shrubs! It grows 3’-5’ tall and wide. Showers and showers of blue flowers appear for 10 months out of the year! Plant Plumbago anywhere that receives at least 4-5 hours of full sun, the hotter the better! Plumbago are deer resistant and moderately salt tolerant. It is beautiful planted under taller palms, in islands, on a hot wall, or mixed in the landscape.

Fertilize spring, summer and fall with slow release 6-8-10 bloomer for optimum performance. If winter damaged simply cut back 3″ above the ground, fertilize and water in -and within weeks you’ll have beautiful, blooming plants again.
