Lime Tree

Name: Lime Tree
Plant Type: fruit
Height: 6’-10’
Width: 4’-8’
Light: full sun
Salt: moderate salt tolerance
Deer: will eat
Zone: 9-11
Notes: Lime trees generally are too cold sensitive to grow in this area however there are two that do well – Persian and Key Limequat. Persian is definitely more cold sensitive than the limequat. It is a tree that has been hybridized with a kumquat to make it more cold hardy. Pure Key Lime trees will freeze in this part of the world. The fruit, however, is exactly like a Key Lime in taste and size. Persian limes are similar to the “grocery store” limes.
