Notes: This native shrub palm grows in the wild all over Florida. It spreads underground with rhizomes that can spread out to 20 feet wide. Very salt tolerant and cold hardy, it can be used for accents or understory palms. When mature, the stems can be trimmed up to make it more “palm like” in appearance.
