Notes: Versatile plant that can be used as a flowering hedge, large screening bush or as an ornamental tree. Light silvery-green foliage is a nice contrast color in the garden. The white petals of the flower are often used in salads, and the tangy sweet fruit is edible & has a slight pineapple taste. Good salt tolerance makes it a great plant for coastal areas when planted back from the front dunes. Plant in full sun to partly sunny areas. Attracts a variety of birds that eat the fruit and use the plant for nesting. Mature plant are quite drought tolerant. Pineapple Guava is cold hardy and disease-resistant.
