Lush, deep green leaves cover this ornamental evergreen tree year-round. It is an excellent tree to use as a large screening plant, a standalone specimen or as a large accent tree to anchor and soften corners.

Small, white flowers appear in the Spring among the foliage and we are extremely fragrant when in abundance. Flowers will be followed by small dark blue or black colored berries later in the year.
This tree is very cold hardy and lends itself well to shaping. It has the potential to grow 20-30 feet in height and 6-10 feet in width but can be kept shorter and more compact with occasional trimming. They are often available in standard form (single trunk with foliage at the top) or in full to the ground.

These trees have a medium salt tolerance (no direct salt spray) however, for those with deer, it may not be a good choice as deer likely will munch on them.
