Azalea ‘Mrs. G.G. Gerbing’

Azalea, Mrs GG Gerbing

Height: 5′ – 8′
Spread: 5′ – 8′
Zone: 7 – 11
Salt: Poor
Light: Shade / Partial Shade
Deer: Usually Not
Flower: Pure White

Notes: It’s no wonder Festivals all over the south are named after them! This pure white Formosa puts on a spectacular show in spring for about 6 weeks. Planted in well drained, shady to dappled light areas or against east walls, these plants are performers. Whether in mass plantings or as a lone specimen, this cold hardy evergreen is worthy of any garden. Incorporate landscape soil and peat in the planting hole. After spring bloom apply slow release acid fertilizer and lighter applications in June and August. As the plant puts on new growth and begins to harden, pinch off the tip ends and you’ll have 3 times as many flowers next spring! After August do not trim or fertilize to ensure lots of blooms next spring.
