LOCAL BUSINESS EXPANDS IN DOWN ECONOMY
VerdeGo Landscape Opens New Garden Center in Port Orange, Florida
Although you may never believe it by reading or watching the news, it’s not the end of the world out there. Some local businesses are actually expanding in the down economy and VerdeGo Landscape is one of them. Rather than laying people off and downsizing, the company is using this time to open its second retail garden center in Port Orange, Florida.
The 3 acre site is no stranger to local residences as the “old Allandale nursery”, a garden center that served the Port Orange area for over 20 years but has been vacant for the past 5. With new ownership came a new facelift of the property. The old and overgrown space has been transformed into beautiful walkways, lush gardens, and plants galore. The nursery at 5346 S. Ridgewood Ave is scheduled to open the end of January under the VerdeGo name.
Slumping sales in the Flagler County market forced the company to look for new marketplaces to offer their product and services. “We are extremely excited to come down here,” Brian Brown, a residential designer said. “We did some research, and we couldn’t find a company in this area that offers all the services we do.” VerdeGo was recently awarded Best Garden Center in the South East region by Today’s Garden Center Magazine.
VerdeGo was established in 2000 their goal is to provide customers a garden center experience like no other. The company offers landscape design and installation, irrigation, pavers, lighting, fountains, fire pits, summer kitchens, and much more.
